Hello band mates!

Tomorrow's the day so please be well-prepared and sleep early tonight.

Please be outside band room at 11:30am, PE attire (no fbts or you'll walk around in your underwear).

Lunch will NOT be provided so please have it before coming for band. Dinner will be provided though.

Also, you're to bring the formal band uniform (long sleeve shirt, skirt/pants, court shoes/leather shoes, blazers, ties)

Remember the scores you have to copy? If you haven't copied, please do it now as you're to hand it up tomorrow.

All the best and band will be great for the concert!

Hey band mates! In exactly 8 days' time, we're going to perform for the school's 10th year anniversary concert. But are you prepared yet?

Don't worry, Maestro Sim is to the rescue! With...
ERP, TEAM and FOCUS.

Seriously, what is ERP? Road tax?
Nope, it is actually

Envision [en-vizh-uhn]
–verb (used with object)
to picture mentally, esp. some future event or events: to envision a bright future.

Relax [ri-laks]
–verb (used with object)
to release or bring relief from the effects of tension, anxiety, etc.

Positive Thinking
confident in opinion or assertion; fully assured

So can you picture a good performance, to relax yourself and to have a positive mindset?

Team? A group? I know lah!
Hmm well, actually it stands for a lot of stuffs other than a group!

T is for Togetherness and Trust.
So are you guys together during a performance? Or are you guys scattered apart?

E is for Envision (yes, again), Enthusiasm, Energy, Emission, Empathy and Effort.
Do you guys have all of those? Do a check list now!

A is for Attention, Adulation and Aim.
Attention during band? Wanting to get adulation from audiences? Can you aim for the note?

M is for Miracle and Mirthful.
Are you joyful when you're playing or are you just jealous of the audiences eating away under the stage when you're performing?

And that's one team! :)

Let's be a SUT SUT band as we focus to do well for this performance!

We all know that we have practised very hard and sounded beautiful in the band room but would the people outside of band understand? Nope they don't. And we can't go around saying, "EH I PRACTISED LIKE SIAO LEH! Sounded so boomz okay. Don't play play."

So what to do? ERP, FOCUS and TEAM!

Remember this:
ERP is everywhere thus we must FOCUS and be a TEAM!

Let's work hard and towards seeing audiences going gaga over the school band.. In a good way. :)

Anyway on Saturday, it will be our first full dress rehearsal for the concert. So in case you haven't been listening to the announcements,

Attire for girls: Blouse (long sleeved not sleeveless), skirt, stockings (full length, not half) and court shoes.

PS: No shiny nor any fanciful court shoes! Go buy the standard auntie type at BATA now!
And it looks something like this.

Attire for guys: Blouse (long sleeved!), pants and black leather shoes with black socks (no Michael Jackson with white socks allowed)

Shoes for guys:

Fall in at 7:45AM, outside the music room.

Band will be from 7:45AM to 4PM on the 14th and there will be 2 rehearsals.

Please do have your breakfast before coming and also, pin up your frrriiiinnnge, girls.

Cut your nails and set your alarm too unless you want to be sweaty and smell weird when you go up the stage.
