Yikes, looks like we're getting really dusty and outdated here. So let's update things a little. First things first, let's be really really proud and happy for that SILVER award we clinched in SYF 2009! Bravo to all of you! Indeed your hard work has paid off. All that blood, sweat, tears... It's worth it yea? :)
I've collected lots of photos, I believe many of you have better shots than I do. So.. do send those pretty pictures around via MSN or facebook ya? Let's take a while to look back in time at some of the events that have happened over the past months...
I guess you all will agree with me that the many challenges and tests that we've faced as a band, and serves to make us stronger and more united as one. Indeed, nothing is impossible. If we all stand together, we can achieve anything! :)
Let's also not forget our beloved little juniors who have been training very hard while we were busy preparing for SYF. Many of them wished to be there on SYF day to send their regards and show their support for the main band. Indeed, they're your no. 1 fans! :) Good job juniors, and keep practicing yea? Soon it'll be your turn to do the school proud!
So.. what awaits before us for the rest of 2009? We've performances on speech day and the school's 10th year celebration dinner. Though they are in-school performances, they are great training grounds for us to breakthrough and learn from. Tone, rhythm, notes, articulation, dynamics, phrasing... in time, in tune, in feel.. there's so many things we need to do! We musicians are such good multi-taskers! :)
Ok, before I appear too long and naggy, let me send my deepest deepest appreciation to all the sec 4s/5s who are leaving us to concentrate on their national exams. Do remember that you'll always be a part of us, and we welcome your presence back anytime!
Alright, I shall end off by reminding EVERYONE who reads this long post that... EXAMS ARE HERE, and we need to strive to do our best! Let's show everyone that we, band members are equally dedicated and hardworking with our studies as we are with our music!

Formed in 2000, the Woodgrove Secondary Symphonic Band was a young band. Slowly, the band grew and took part in countless school events and external performances. The Woodgrove Secondary School Symphonic Band is now a musical ensemble made up of woodwinds, brass and percussion instruments and may include a string bass. Our musicians play a repertoire of music from classical to pop.
