Hello! How was the carnival? I'm sure you guys had fun, I did. However, the carnival has eaten up one of our band pracs, so we have to make sure we make up for it by working super hard these few coming band practices alright? The attire for band camp is your FULL P.E attire. Packing list:(Band Tee-Shirt, School bottom, 2 sets of P.E attire, A set of casual clothes, Slippers, Toiletries, White long sleve shirt, Black boots/Court shoes, Sleeping bags, Writting materials and Water bottle(>500ml).)

From what I heard last thursday, I don't think the band sounds even alright. Brasses, we have wasted Mr Sim's 2hrs trying to balanced us for mvt 4 for the choice piece right after the woodwinds come in. Those who are to give way, GIVE WAY! You would not be awarded a award for standing out. Those who are to come out, do come out, you have all the support already, just come out, no worries! Personally think that was the main problem that thursday.

The band is out of tempo by alot for Overture no.1. When we aren't following the harmony director, we are out of tempo. When we are, all our dynamics are gone! They are what? Went under the table? There's no room for that in SYF. Soundcheck is this tuesday, the hall is said to be 'wet' by Mr Ng, meaning echo-y, making bands loose articulation. So we have to make it work! Keep listening and that should be fine.

22 days to SYF. Time is not on our side. With so much events in the school, it's not doing justice to us. But do the judges care? Hell no they don't. Guys, let's press on with faith and hope! We shall leave the stage with no regrets knowing we have done our best! All we have to do is to focus and stop forgetting things alright? Concentration level is always so low, there is no room for that. This band camp will be super packed with the sound check, tutorial session with Mr. Surapol Thanyawibool and an exchange with Marsling Concert Band. Just keep focusing! (:

Hey guys, I'm pretty sure everyone's rushing through their homework and all that this weekend but I just had a thought that I sort of the left this blog to rot for awhile. :X My fault, so here I'm to dust it off.

I want to talk about the most recent music exchange we had yesturday(7/3). I'm sure everyone is aware with how we actually did. I would share with you guys how I did and the word to describe it was horrendous. Yeah. We thought we did well at the school hall last saturday(28/2) and we assumed we will be facing the same acoustics and such at the auditorium at SJI. We were really wrong.

I guess everyone was nervous but this is a cruel fact that SCH which we will be going there soon for our sound check is much larger and people watcing us won't be just our alumni and those schools who we are so intimidated by. It's 7 internationally well known judges who I believe really does know what music is. Different schools, better or worse who will be judging you. Your teachers, principal and higher authority in Woodgrove who had placed so much hope on you. I guess it's something we have to overcome. I have to admit I was really nervous too, so that's something I have to over come too, together with you guys. [:

It's approx. three weeks to SYF already. Sec 4/5s, this SYF will be our last. It's gonna mean alot. It's either we start a gold streak for this band or we continue the silver one or we break it by getting a bronze maybe just because we were too nervous or too complacent. Sec 3s, your first and also maybe your last SYF, are you gonna cherish it? It's an opportunity of a lifetime! Sec 2s, You may have one more chance, but if you slack this off.. how sure are you to 'make it happen' two years later?

When I was sec 2, it was my SYF year. This time of the year, I know it's not like what's happening now. I came for sectionals everyday. Looking through the score everyday, making sure I find something new in the score everyday. Every single music exchange made me broke down. Realising how many mistakes I have made yet again. Making me fall and the rush to get up and climb higher each time. I wasn't musically talented I would say, but I actually think I did well for SYF.

Despite the silver which wasn't expected, I was proud. Yes, I was dissapointed but the feeling, how do I say it? It just felt extremly good that I actually conquered Heroic Saga! How does this relate to you? Up to how you want to work through these few weeks or what. For all I know, I still have alot to learn and I'm definitely not wasting my secondary life away like that. I'm going to make a mark! Are you?

Remember this? This was awarded a silver in 2007. It was grade 7! We are dealing with a grade 4.5 now. Of course we can sound better then this and achieve something shinier. If we don't, there must be a serious problem.

As you realised how long my post is and that might be like 217324x spelling errors, I hope you guys understand what I'm trying to say. And of course, a belated extended welcome to the sec1s! Welcome sec1s to Woodgrove Symphonic Band where we fire together and wire together! No doubt, we are a force to be acknowledged!(This sounds like the NCC slogan, I just realised. :x)
